Long before the official creation of SSK, one of its paramount members, Mr. Bernard CHERIX, introduced karate to Switzerland in 1957 and invited, in 1968 already, Sensei Tsutomu OHSHIMA, whom he had met in Paris, to extend his teaching to our country.

As the years went by certain bonds were established between senior members of France Shotokan (founded in 1964) and Swiss karate fans. These close relationships gave birth to SSK in 1977.
